1. Internal Auditor

Salary: R338 106 per annum (Level 07)
Centre: Central Office

Motheo TVET College is seeking a qualified Internal Auditor with a strong background in audit systems, public sector risk management, and compliance frameworks.

Requirements

  • Degree or National Diploma in Internal Auditing, B.Com Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience
  • Registration with the Institute of Internal Auditors (South Africa)
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Report writing and computer literacy
  • Knowledge of:
    • National Treasury Internal Audit Framework
    • Internal audit methodologies
    • GRAP standards
    • Public sector Risk Management Framework
    • Global Internal Auditing Standards

Duties

  • Prepare system documentation and audit working papers
  • Gather and verify audit evidence
  • Develop audit programmes and testing procedures
  • Develop Combined Assurance and Implementation Plans
  • Facilitate the Combined Assurance Forum
  • Conduct internal audit engagements
  • Prepare progress and draft audit reports
  • Supervise junior staff and complete monthly timesheets

2. Internal Auditor (College Council Post)

Salary: R338 106 per annum (Level 07)
Centre: Central Office

This position carries similar responsibilities and requirements as the Internal Auditor post above but is specifically aligned with the College Council structure.

Requirements

  • Degree or National Diploma in Internal Auditing, B.Com Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience
  • Registration with the Institute of Internal Auditors (South Africa)
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Strong knowledge of public sector auditing frameworks

Duties

  • Conduct internal audit reviews
  • Compile audit reports
  • Support combined assurance processes
  • Monitor compliance and control systems
  • Supervise junior personnel

3. State Accountant: Budgeting

The College is also recruiting a skilled State Accountant to support budgeting, financial planning, and expenditure control functions.

Requirements

  • Degree or National Diploma in Financial Management, Accounting, or Cost and Management Accounting
  • Minimum 2 years functional experience in financial management and budgeting
  • Experience in general ledger review
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • PFMA
    • Treasury Regulations
    • Relevant financial policies

Duties

  • Compile and plan budgets for branches and units
  • Monitor expenditure and process payments
  • Perform creditors reconciliation
  • Manage cash flow
  • Conduct expenditure analysis
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual budget reports
  • Assist with audit action plans and audit information
