About the Internship
The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) is offering an ICT Logistics Internship opportunity designed to provide graduates with practical, work-integrated experience in logistics within a state-owned entity environment.
The internship will expose the successful candidate to logistics strategy, service delivery, cost management, stock control, asset management, dispatch and distribution, inventory management, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder support.
Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the General Manager: ICT Strategy and Innovation, the intern will gain practical experience in the following areas:
Stock and Asset Support
- Assist with receiving, recording, and issuing tagged stock, equipment, and consumables.
- Maintain accurate stock records.
- Report stock shortages, discrepancies, and related issues.
Dispatch and Distribution
- Prepare parcels for dispatch to customer service centres, toll plazas, mobile operations vehicles, and internal teams.
- Track deliveries and confirm receipt with relevant stakeholders.
Inventory and Warehouse Support
- Conduct regular stock counts and update inventory registers.
- Ensure storage areas are properly organised and comply with safety requirements.
Mobile Operations Support
- Assist with preparing stock for mobile operations vehicles.
- Support readiness activities and replenishment of operational supplies.
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare delivery notes, stock transfer forms, and dispatch registers.
- Update logistics systems.
- Assist with preparing weekly and monthly logistics reports.
Stakeholder Support
- Respond to stock and logistics-related queries from internal teams.
- Escalate operational issues to the Logistics Supervisor.
Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to occupational health and safety guidelines.
- Follow internal stock-handling procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate records.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have a National Diploma or Degree at NQF Level 6 or higher in one of the following fields:
- Logistics
- Transport Management
- Operations Management
- Business Administration
- Customer Relations
- Supply Chain Management
- A related Supply Chain Management qualification
