1. Deputy Director: Management Accounting – JI 36/2026
Salary: R932,292 per annum, Level 11
Location: Centurion
Applicants need Grade 12 and a Bachelor’s degree at NQF Level 7 in Financial Management, Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, Commerce, Financial Accounting, Public Finance or an equivalent qualification. At least five years’ relevant experience and three years at Assistant Director or equivalent supervisory/junior management level are required. The successful candidate will manage the Management Accounting Sub-directorate and oversee budgeting, expenditure monitoring, cash flow management, financial reporting, budget adjustments, financial analysis and related financial accounting functions.
2. Deputy Director: Information and Communication Technology – JI 37/2026

Applicants require Grade 12 and an NQF Level 6 qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Informatics, Information Management, ICT Management, Software Development, Network Engineering or a related field. The position requires Grade 12 and a Bachelor’s degree at NQF Level 7 in Criminology, Penology, Public Administration, Public Management, Corrections Management or an equivalent qualification. At least five years’ relevant experience and three years at Assistant Director or equivalent management level are required. The Regional Manager will coordinate regional oversight, inspections, investigations, complaints and mandatory reporting programmes and manage regional resources and stakeholder engagement.
5. Assistant Director: Human Resources – Skills Development Facilitator – JI 40/2026

10. Senior Case Officer: Mandatory Reporting – JI 45/2026

Location: Cape Town
Applicants need Grade 12 and an LLB, BProc or recognised NQF Level 7 legal qualification, plus one to three years’ relevant experience, including one year of supervisory experience. The successful candidate will monitor and evaluate mandatory reports relating to inmates, identify systemic problems, prepare reports and recommendations, conduct legal and factual analysis and support investigations where required.

One position is based in Centurion for the Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West Management Region, while the other is based in East London for the Eastern Cape Management Region.
Applicants require Grade 12 and a three-year relevant tertiary qualification in Criminal Justice or a related NQF Level 6 field, together with one to three years’ relevant experience. An unendorsed driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively are essential. The successful candidates will conduct inspections and investigations at correctional centres, compile reports, profile correctional centres and liaise with the Department of Correctional Services regarding findings and recommendations.

A certificate in Office Administration, Information Management, Public Administration, Records Management, Computer Studies or Data Management is an advantage, together with one to two years’ relevant experience. The role involves capturing and verifying complaint and incident information, maintaining databases and records, generating statistics, supporting Senior Case Officers and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of information.
16. Independent Correctional Centre Visitor – JI 52/2026
Contract: 36 months
Salary: R89,046 per annum, Level 05 – 3/8th, plus 37% in lieu of benefits
Location: Van Rhynsdorp Correctional Centre
Applicants require Grade 12 and must be computer literate and accurate. A recommendation of nomination as an Independent Correctional Centre Visitor by a community organisation, not older than six months, is required. The position involves conducting site visits, interviewing inmates and Department of Correctional Services officials, receiving and capturing complaints, maintaining case files, following up on outstanding complaints and submitting monthly reports. Preference will be given to qualifying applicants living in communities near the correctional centre.
