Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A Grade 12 Certificate.
  • A National Diploma in Financial Information Systems, Informatics, or a related equivalent qualification at NQF Level 6.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a system administration or management environment.
  • A valid driver’s licence.

Knowledge and Skills

Candidates should have knowledge of:

  • Public Service Act.
  • Public Finance Management Act.
  • Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act.
  • Treasury Regulations.
  • Financial systems.

The position also requires:

Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing operational access, system improvements, user support and first-level end-user assistance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining master data, including project setup and the master chart of accounts.
  • Ensuring effective management of financial and operational systems within the Agricultural Land Holding Account (ALHA) Trading Account.
  • Maintaining the Chart of Accounts.
  • Logging calls with service providers.
  • Coordinating work performed by third-party technical resources.
  • Ensuring that approved change-control procedures are followed.
  • Maintaining systems and facilitating user support and training.
  • Approving modifications relating to security, new users, termination of users and access control.
  • Developing and maintaining report specifications.
  • Managing systems development and enhancements.
  • Coordinating the implementation of new projects related to system enhancements.
  • Monitoring developers and system providers in accordance with approved contracts and Service Level Agreements.

The Department is looking for a reliable and creative individual who can effectively perform transport, document handling and basic registry-related duties.

Duties

The successful candidate will:

  • Drive light and medium vehicles to transport passengers.
  • Deliver mail, documents, office equipment and other items.
  • Collect, distribute and control the movement of documents.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the allocated vehicle.
  • Report vehicle defects promptly.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Complete prescribed vehicle records and logbooks.
  • Maintain accurate trip sheets and record official trips and daily mileage.
  • Collect and deliver departmental documentation and related items.
  • Ensure the secure movement of documents.
  • Assist with registry functions.
  • File incoming correspondence and assist in tracing files.
  • Copy and fax documents.

  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain security clearance, sign an employment contract, enter into an annual performance agreement and disclose their financial interests.
  • False or fraudulent qualifications may be reported to the South African Police Service (SAPS), and a criminal case may be opened.
