1) Director-General

Location: Pretoria
Contract: 5 Years Fixed-Term
Salary: R2,352,642 per annum

This is the highest-ranking position in the department, responsible for providing strategic leadership and overseeing the implementation of national transport policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the department’s strategic goals
  • Oversee financial and corporate management services
  • Supervise rail, road, aviation, maritime, and public transport systems
  • Coordinate policy development and implementation
  • Ensure research, monitoring, and evaluation of the transport sector
  • Lead national infrastructure and transport planning

Requirements

  • NQF Level 8 qualification recognized by SAQA
  • Minimum 10 years senior management experience
  • Strong background in transport, engineering, law, logistics, or public administration

2) Deputy Director-General: Civil Aviation
