The Tanzania Forest Services Agency has officially announced new employment opportunities for qualified Tanzanians to apply for the position of Driver III. A total of eight (8) posts are available under the Agency’s Central Zone operations based in Dodoma. This recruitment drive forms part of the Agency’s continued efforts to strengthen transportation and operational support services across its forestry and conservation activities in Tanzania.

About the Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS)

The Tanzania Forest Services Agency is a semi-autonomous Government Agency established through Government Notice No. 269 of 30 July 2010 under the Executive Agency Act (Cap. 245). The Agency is responsible for implementing the National Forest and Beekeeping Policy of 1998, as well as enforcing the Forest Act and Beekeeping Act in Tanzania.

TFS plays a major role in conserving forests and bee resources while promoting sustainable environmental management across the country. The Agency is also among the four institutions forming the Wildlife and Forest Conservation Service established under the Written Laws (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act of 2020.

TFS Headquarters and Operational Zones

The Agency’s headquarters are located at Misitu House, Itega Area, along Singida Road in Dodoma. Operational activities are managed through seven zonal offices across Tanzania, namely:

  • Eastern Zone – Kibaha, Pwani Region
  • Southern Zone – Masasi District, Mtwara Region
  • Southern Highlands Zone – Mbeya City, Mbeya Region
  • Northern Zone – Same District, Kilimanjaro Region
  • Western Zone – Tabora Municipal, Tabora Region
  • Lake Zone – Mwanza City, Mwanza Region
  • Central Zone – Dodoma City, Dodoma Region

While strategic management is coordinated from the headquarters, zonal offices oversee day-to-day operational activities.

Position Available

Driver III (8 Posts)

Duty Station: Central Zone – Dodoma

This opportunity is ideal for experienced drivers seeking to work within a respected government environmental and forestry institution.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following academic and professional requirements:

  • Possession of a Form IV Certificate
  • Valid Class “C1” or “E” Driving License
  • Basic Driving Course Certificate from VETA or another recognized institution
  • Minimum of one (1) year driving experience without causing accidents

Candidates with good driving discipline, responsibility, and commitment to safety standards are encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful applicants will be responsible for several transport and vehicle management duties, including:

  • Driving Agency vehicles safely and responsibly
  • Maintaining vehicle logbooks and movement records
  • Ensuring vehicles remain in good operating condition
  • Assisting with simple vehicle repairs when necessary
  • Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and service schedules

The position requires individuals who can work professionally and support field operations efficiently.
