Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST) has officially announced six (6) vacant positions for qualified Tanzanians to join the institution on contract terms. The university was established through the transformation of the Mbeya Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) under the Universities Act No. 7 of 2005 and its 2013 Charter. 1. Radio Technician II – (1 Post)
Mbeya University is seeking a qualified Radio Technician II to support the operations of MUST FM Radio.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain all broadcasting and office equipment
- Inspect equipment and carry out performance checks to ensure proper operation in line with TCRA regulations
- Monitor signal fidelity
- Supervise installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of radio equipment
- Initiate orders for repair and replacement of faulty equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned by relevant authorities
Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Form IV or Form VI certificate
- Passes in English, Kiswahili, or any foreign language
- Two-year Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, or equivalent
- Skills in graphics, photography, photo editing, and video shooting
- Strong computer skills

2. Journalist II – (1 Post)
MUST is also looking for a talented Journalist II to support its media and communication activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Gather, write, and edit news stories
- Prepare radio and television scripts and programme content
- Report on current affairs for broadcasting
- Conduct interviews with politicians and public figures
- Write editorials and advertising copy
- Prepare publicity materials for broadcasting
- Provide professional guidance to junior reporters and journalists
- Monitor cab reporters and researchers
- Perform related duties assigned by supervisors
Qualifications
Applicants should hold:
- Bachelor Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of graphics, photography, photo editing, and video shooting is an added advantage
- Strong computer literacy

3. Admission Assistant – (4 Posts)
The university is hiring four Admission Assistants to support admissions and communication services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in answering calls from subscribers within and outside exchanges
- Connect calls within and outside the exchange area
- Receive and direct calls to the appropriate offices
- Receive and guide applicants to relevant officials
- Keep records of incoming and outgoing calls
- Maintain applicants’ register books
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- Diploma in Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Computer Engineering
- Business Administration (any specialty)
- Or any equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
