Job Summary
The school is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and motivated Laboratory Technician to support the effective delivery of science education within both the primary and secondary school sections. The successful candidate will play an important role in preparing laboratory materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safe laboratory practices for both students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the following duties:
- Preparing laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials for science lessons and experiments.
- Assisting science teachers during practical lessons when required.
- Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring all apparatus are clean, functional, and safely stored.
- Monitoring and managing laboratory inventory, including ordering and organizing supplies.
- Ensuring compliance with laboratory safety standards and procedures.
- Disposing of chemical waste and hazardous materials according to safety guidelines.
- Supporting the organization and preparation of practical examinations.
Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Technology, Science, or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a school or laboratory environment is an added advantage.
