The salary package consists of:
- 70% basic salary
- 30% flexible benefits package
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 8) recognized by SAQA
- Qualification in one of the following fields:
- Communication
- Development Communication
- Public Relations
- Media Studies
- Journalism
- Related communication fields
In addition, candidates must have:
- At least 8 years of experience at senior management level
- Extensive experience in the communication environment
A Nyukela Public Service SMS Pre-Entry Programme Certificate endorsed by the National School of Government (NSG) is mandatory.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The appointed Deputy Director-General will report directly to the Director-General and will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership in government communication
- Ensuring quality, consistency, and responsiveness of public information
- Leading digital communication strategies
- Coordinating communication platforms across government
- Overseeing media buying, production, and marketing services
- Conducting research to guide communication decisions
- Strengthening communication across all official languages
- Managing government corporate branding
- Ensuring sound governance, risk compliance, and financial management
- Supporting communication policy and legislative development
This is a highly influential executive role that directly impacts how government communicates with the public.
