Job Purpose
The main purpose of the Driver position is to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods from Buildmart Limited to clients. The driver is expected to follow delivery schedules, handle goods carefully, and provide excellent customer service during deliveries while maintaining the company’s standards of reliability and professionalism.
Key Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Ensuring the safe keeping of all vehicle equipment, including tools, first aid kits, and other components.
- Taking full responsibility for the vehicle assigned for driving duties.
- Staying updated with road regulations, routes, road conditions, and delivery locations.
- Completing the vehicle logbook correctly and consistently according to Buildmart Limited standards.
- Reporting immediately any accidents, incidents, minor damages, loss, or theft of vehicle components.
- Monitoring daily fuel consumption and ensuring timely refueling.
- Assisting with loading and unloading of goods when required.
- Maintaining clear communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery progress.
- Interacting with customers professionally and respectfully.
- Addressing customer concerns politely and escalating issues when necessary.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
Education and Licensing
Applicants must have:
- Certificate of Ordinary Level Education
Additional Requirements
To be considered, candidates must also meet the following:
- Ability to communicate well in English and Kiswahili (spoken and written).
- Strong driving skills with good knowledge of defensive driving techniques.
- A clean driving track record and high level of responsibility.
