About TCAA

The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) was established under the Civil Aviation Act, Cap. 80 (R.E. 2023). It serves as the key regulatory body overseeing all aspects of civil aviation in Tanzania. TCAA ensures compliance with international aviation standards, provides air navigation services, and delivers top-tier aviation training through its Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC) located at Julius Nyerere International Airport.

Available Training Programs

TCAA is offering thirty-eight (38) training opportunities for qualified Tanzanian citizens in the following areas:

Successful candidates will undergo one year of specialized training at the Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC), including classroom theory, simulations, and field attachments.

Air Traffic Control Aerodrome Course – Entry Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A B.Sc. Degree in Air Traffic Management, Physics, Mathematics, GIS, Geomatics, or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Passes in English and Geography (Grade C or above)
  • Passes in Mathematics and Physics (Grades A–C)
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Computer literacy
  • Age between 21 and 26 years
  • Tanzanian citizenship (attach National ID and Birth Certificate)

Aeronautical Information Management Course – Entry Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A B.Sc. Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Geo-informatics, GIS, Geomatics, or a related discipline
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Strong computer skills
  • Passes in Mathematics and Physics (Grades A–C) at Advanced Level
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Age between 21 and 26 years
  • Tanzanian citizenship (attach National ID and Birth Certificate)

Training Fees and Costs

  • Tuition Fee: TZS 6,000,000 (payable in two installments)
  • 50% due before classes begin, and 50% before final examinations
  • Trainees must cover their own living, transport, and accommodation expenses

Training Venue and Duration

All training will take place at the Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC), Julius Nyerere International Airport, Terminal I – Dar es Salaam. The program runs for one year, divided into phases with continuous assessments and examinations.

Employment Opportunities

Upon successful completion, trainees will be eligible for recruitment as Air Traffic Management Officers or Aeronautical Information Management Officers, depending on performance and organizational needs.
