The South African Police Service (SAPS) is inviting suitably qualified and experienced South African citizens to apply for the position of MIC Support: Administration Clerk Supervisor within the Division: Operational Response Service. Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the requirements specified for the position. Candidates must:

  • Be South African citizens and provide documentary proof of citizenship at the interview.
  • Have Grade 12, Senior Certificate, NCV Level 4 or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification recognised by SAQA.
  • Have at least four years’ relevant experience in the field of the post.
  • Be proficient in English and at least one other official South African language.
  • Demonstrate competency in the core functions of the position.

An applicable three-year Diploma or Degree at NQF Level 6 or higher, together with relevant training courses, will be an added advantage. A valid light motor vehicle driver’s licence will also be advantageous.

The successful candidate should have good knowledge of public service prescripts and demonstrate strong administrative and professional capabilities. Key competencies include:

Key Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective and efficient management information and administrative support to the relevant section. Duties will include:

  • Preparing presentations for internal use as requested by the Section Head.
  • Maintaining databases containing information required by the Section Head.
  • Rendering basic administrative services to NIU Operations and Support.
  • Managing the Iris system relevant to NIU units.
  • Conducting monitoring and evaluation activities at various units within the section.
  • Attending to Auditor-General matters relating to national performance indicators.
  • Providing effective management information services to the Section Head.

Important Information for Applicants

  • Certain posts may also require additional vetting in terms of relevant legislation, including the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act and the Children’s Act.

New SAPS appointments are also subject to the applicable forensic DNA requirements, including the provision of a buccal sample for the determination of a forensic DNA profile.
