1. Site Engineer – Tanga
LJ Ascendant is seeking a highly experienced Site Engineer to oversee day-to-day construction site operations for major aviation and infrastructure projects. This role is critical in ensuring that all engineering standards, timelines, and safety measures are followed with precision.
The successful candidate will be responsible for
- supervising on-site construction activities, coordinating subcontractors and labor teams, maintaining quality control, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Since the projects involve airport environments, experience in aviation-related infrastructure is highly valued.
- managing project execution according to structural drawings and specifications,
- resolving complex technical issues, maintaining detailed progress reports, and ensuring all work aligns with international aviation standards.
Qualifications
- To qualify, applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.Eng or B.Sc) from a recognized institution.
- Professional licensure or chartership will be an added advantage.
- Candidates should also possess at least 12 years of cumulative experience in civil engineering and construction management, with prior experience as a Site Engineer on at least one airport construction project within the last 10 years.
- Strong knowledge of project management tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and CAD software is essential.
- A deep understanding of ICAO/FAA standards or local aviation authority regulations is also required.
2. Senior Architect – Tanga
LJ Ascendant is also looking for a skilled and visionary Senior Architect to lead the architectural design and implementation of airport-related infrastructure. This role is designed for professionals who can combine creative excellence with technical expertise in large-scale aviation projects.
The Senior Architect will be tasked with leading design development for airport terminals, control towers, hangars, and other related facilities. Responsibilities include working closely with engineers, ensuring compliance with international aviation regulations, conducting site visits, selecting sustainable materials, and serving as the key architectural liaison between clients, authorities, and contractors.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (B.Arch) from an accredited university and must be professionally registered with a recognized national board of architects. A minimum of 10 years of cumulative experience in architectural design and project management is required. Candidates must also have experience serving as a Lead Architect or Civil Architect on at least one airport construction or expansion project within the last 10 years. Advanced proficiency in BIM software (Revit), AutoCAD, and 3D modeling/rendering tools such as Rhino, V-Ray, or Enscape is mandatory.
