1. Chief Director: Integrated Criminal Justice System

Salary: R1,554,696 – R1,858,821 per annum, Level 14

Applicants need an NQF Level 7 legal qualification or LLB degree recognised by SAQA and at least five years’ experience at senior managerial level in a criminal justice system. The successful candidate will facilitate the Integrated Criminal Justice Services strategy, legislative reform and the implementation of a victim-centred justice system. The role also involves coordinating criminal justice activities, monitoring initiatives and providing strategic management of human, financial and physical resources.

2. Director: Tribunal and Quasi Judiciary

3. Director: Regional Court Operations Support

Duties include supporting lower courts, developing and monitoring Regional Court processes and procedures, overseeing efficiency programmes for Regional and Small Claims Courts, and managing transcription support services.

4. State Law Adviser: Constitutional and Legislative Implementation

Applicants must have an NQF Level 7 legal qualification or LLB degree, admission as an Attorney or Advocate, and at least five years of appropriate post-qualification litigation or advisory experience. The role focuses on legal research, constitutional programmes, legislative reform and monitoring the impact of key constitutional legislation.

5. Deputy Master: Master of High Court – 3 Posts

Applicants require an NQF Level 7 legal qualification or LLB degree, eight years of appropriate post-qualification legal experience and a valid driver’s licence. The positions involve supervising the administration of guardian funds, deceased and insolvent estates, trusts and curatorships, as well as overseeing legal and administrative operations within the Office of the Master of the High Court.

Applicants need an NQF Level 7 legal qualification or LLB degree and at least two years of appropriate post-qualification legal experience. Key duties include conducting legal research, preparing legal opinions, facilitating the implementation of legislation, and monitoring and evaluating legislative implementation.

Applicants must have an LLB degree and knowledge of the South African legal system, legal practices, civil litigation, contract law and relevant legislation. The successful candidate will assist with implementing national policies and regulations relating to the District Court Management System, conduct research, analyse information, implement programmes and provide effective people management.

Suitable candidates will also undergo mandatory pre-employment screening and verification.
