About the Tree Specialist Role
The Tree Specialist will provide operational leadership for One Acre Fund’s tree marketing and distribution activities in Tanzania. Key Responsibilities
Programme Marketing, Sales and Distribution Strategy
- Lead the implementation of annual marketing strategies across designated districts.
- Coordinate farmer enrollment activities to increase participation and product adoption.
- Lead seedling distribution strategies and ensure targets are achieved.
- Support the growth of tree-related products and services among participating farmers.
Field Execution and Operational Leadership
- Direct field operations across approximately 100–150 sites.

Team Management and Capacity Building
- Directly manage and mentor approximately 6–10 Tree Supervisors.

Farmer Training and Community Engagement

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience in field operations, programme marketing, product adoption, sales or community behavioural change initiatives.
- Strong understanding of agroforestry, tree management, seedling distribution systems or agricultural extension.
- Experience leading and mentoring field-based teams such as supervisors or extension workers.
- A degree or equivalent training in Agroforestry, Agriculture, Marketing, Business Administration, Development Studies or a related discipline.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to train and engage rural farming communities effectively.
- Good stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in field-based environments and manage multiple operational activities.
