The Department of Defence is inviting qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Deputy Director: Evaluations within the Chief Directorate: Transformation Management (CDTM). Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification.
- A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, or Human Resource Management with Research Methodology (NQF Level 6).
- At least three (3) years of experience at Junior Management level.
- Experience in report writing, evaluation frameworks, research methods, and statistical procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of Transformation and Employment Equity principles.
Additional Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent communication abilities for presenting research findings clearly to various stakeholders.
- Advisory and strategic planning skills to guide programme owners on improving transformation initiatives.
- Ability to provide expert recommendations for programme development and optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
- Coordinate and conduct comprehensive evaluations of transformation programmes to assess effectiveness, impact, and outcomes.
- Lead and coordinate research projects related to transformation and equity within the department.
- Produce evidence-based reports and presentations to support decision-making by senior management.
- Design and review evaluation tools, surveys, questionnaires, and assessment frameworks for data collection and analysis.
- Monitor HR policies and practices to ensure compliance with transformation and employment equity principles.
- Provide administrative and personnel support, including supervising and mentoring the evaluation and research team to ensure high-quality outputs and professional development.
