The Department of Defence is inviting qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Deputy Director: Evaluations within the Chief Directorate: Transformation Management (CDTM). Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification.
A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, or Human Resource Management with Research Methodology (NQF Level 6).
At least three (3) years of experience at Junior Management level.
Experience in report writing, evaluation frameworks, research methods, and statistical procedures.
Advanced knowledge of Transformation and Employment Equity principles.

Strong analytical skills to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights.
Excellent communication abilities for presenting research findings clearly to various stakeholders.
Advisory and strategic planning skills to guide programme owners on improving transformation initiatives.
Ability to provide expert recommendations for programme development and optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

Coordinate and conduct comprehensive evaluations of transformation programmes to assess effectiveness, impact, and outcomes.
Lead and coordinate research projects related to transformation and equity within the department.
Produce evidence-based reports and presentations to support decision-making by senior management.
Design and review evaluation tools, surveys, questionnaires, and assessment frameworks for data collection and analysis.
Monitor HR policies and practices to ensure compliance with transformation and employment equity principles.
Provide administrative and personnel support, including supervising and mentoring the evaluation and research team to ensure high-quality outputs and professional development.
