1. Office Manager

The department is seeking an experienced and highly organized Office Manager to provide executive and strategic support to the Secretary for Police Service. The successful candidate will coordinate executive administration, manage high-level meetings, oversee reporting systems, supervise junior staff, and ensure the smooth functioning of the Office of the Secretary.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • A National Diploma or Degree (NQF 6) in:
    • Public Administration
    • Business Administration
    • Business Management
    • Public Management
    • or equivalent qualification
  • At least five (5) years of experience in office administration or executive administration
  • Minimum three (3) years experience at Assistant Director level
  • Knowledge of:
    • Government systems and structures
    • Public Service Act and Regulations
    • Public Finance Management Act
    • Supply Chain Management procedures
    • Performance Management Systems
  • Strong communication, leadership, planning, project management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and travel when required

Key Responsibilities

2. Assistant Director: Research

The department is looking for a qualified research professional with expertise in quantitative and impact research methodologies. The role focuses on conducting evidence-based studies related to crime prevention, violence prevention, public safety, and policy effectiveness.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7 recognized by SAQA) in:
    • Social Science
    • Data Science
    • Statistics
    • Economics
    • or related field
  • At least three (3) years proven experience in impact research
  • Experience in:
    • Experimental and quasi-experimental research designs
    • Quantitative analysis
    • Policy and strategy impact analysis
    • Data analysis software such as SPSS, Stata, Python, and MS Excel

3. Assistant Director: Demand and Acquisition

The department seeks a qualified Supply Chain Management professional to coordinate procurement and acquisition processes within the Secretariat.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6 recognized by SAQA) or Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Logistics
    • Purchasing Management
    • or relevant SCM qualification
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in Supply Chain Management at supervisory level
  • Knowledge of:
