Andru Mining is inviting applications for its Professional in Training: Mining Learnership Programme 2026. This opportunity is available exclusively to current Andru Mining employees who meet the minimum requirements and are looking to advance their careers within the mining industry.

The learnership will be based within Andru Mining’s Coal and Hardrock Divisions, providing participants with structured professional development while building leadership and operational expertise in opencast mining.

Position Details

Position: Learnership – Professional in Training: Mining

Employment Type: Learnership

Location: Coal and Hardrock Divisions

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification with Mathematics or Accounting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • Must be eligible for admission into a Management Development Programme.
  • Possession of a valid Opencast Blasting Certificate.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an opencast mining environment or as a multi-skilled mining machinery operator at B3U level.
  • Good understanding of mining production systems and safety standards.
  • Computer literacy will be an added advantage.
  • Good command of English, including reading and report-writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Trustworthy, safety-conscious, and professional.
  • Good leadership ability and sound business understanding.
  • Must be medically fit.
  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and under pressure according to operational requirements.
