Polytra Tanzania Limited continues to strengthen its workforce by hiring talented individuals who can support its financial management and business operations. The Junior Accountant will play an important role in assisting the finance department with daily accounting tasks and ensuring compliance with financial procedures.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the finance team in various accounting functions, including:
- Assisting in the validation and processing of invoices accurately and on time
- Supporting the posting of purchase and sales transactions in Odoo
- Assisting in preparing bank reconciliations and petty cash reconciliations
- Supporting supplier and customer account reconciliations, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Assisting in the preparation and filing of VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory obligations
- Maintaining proper documentation and an organized filing system for all financial records
- Supporting the preparation of monthly financial reports
- Assisting in the monthly financial closing process
- Providing support during internal and external audits
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and financial procedures
- Assisting in monitoring expenses and supporting cost control initiatives
This role offers hands-on exposure to core accounting functions, making it ideal for candidates who want to gain valuable industry experience.
Qualifications and Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Fresh graduate or up to one (1) year of relevant experience
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong willingness to learn and grow professionally
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Odoo accounting software will be an added advantage
