Available Positions
1. Director of Fiber Infrastructure & Network Strategy
This senior leadership role focuses on leading the strategic expansion, maintenance, and optimization of Halotel’s national fiber optic network. The successful candidate will oversee the full lifecycle of the four-tier network architecture, including:
- Backbone
- Distribution
- Metro
- Last Mile
The role also ensures seamless integration with the National ICT Broadband Backbone (NICTBB) and uninterrupted connectivity for all BTS sites.

2. Senior Fiber Planning & Transmission Engineer
This role serves as the principal technical architect for Halotel’s national fiber and transmission network. The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- strategic network design
- capacity forecasting
- DWDM, SDH, and GPON ecosystem integrity
- backbone and last-mile scalability
- NICTBB integration
This is a highly technical senior engineering role requiring extensive telecom infrastructure planning expertise.

3. Regional Fiber Operations Officer
This position focuses on the operational management, maintenance, and expansion of Halotel’s fiber infrastructure across all regional branches in Tanzania. The officer will act as the bridge between national strategy and regional implementation while ensuring:
- field team coordination
- reduced MTTR
- efficient fault management
- continuous network availability
- compliance with telecom standards
Reports to: Director of Fiber Infrastructure & Network Strategy
Workplace: All regions, Tanzania
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants for all positions must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in telecommunications, specifically fiber optics and transmission
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Telecommunications Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- or related field
- Strong knowledge of:
- DWDM
- SDH
- GPON
- IP/MPLS network architecture
- Familiarity with TCRA regulations and NICTBB operational protocols
- Proven leadership experience managing large teams and multi-million-dollar budgets
For the engineering role, proficiency in GIS planning software such as GE Smallworld and MapInfo is an added advantage.
