The Reporting Analyst – Commercial plays a critical role in ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting across multiple platforms. These include telecom services such as SMS, USSD, and shortcodes, as well as digital payment systems like A2P, P2A, disbursements, and POS/Wakala operations. The role focuses on transforming complex datasets into meaningful insights that support business decision-making, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection & Validation
- Extract and compile data from telecom and payment systems
- Validate accuracy, completeness, and consistency of datasets
- Conduct reconciliations across internal systems, banks, and Mobile Network Operators (MNOs)
Telecom Reporting
- Analyze SMS traffic (A2P/P2A), delivery rates, and system failures
- Monitor USSD sessions and shortcode usage trends
- Support telecom revenue assurance processes
- Ensure reporting aligns with regulatory requirements from Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority
Digital Payments Reporting
- Track A2P, P2A, and disbursement transactions
- Monitor volumes, values, and transaction success rates
- Support settlement and reconciliation processes
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations from Bank of Tanzania
POS & Wakala Reporting
- Monitor agent transactions, float balances, and commissions
- Prepare operational and financial performance reports
- Support agent performance tracking and optimization
Dashboard & Automation
- Build interactive dashboards using Power BI and Excel
- Automate reporting workflows for efficiency
- Deliver both real-time and scheduled reports
Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
- Prepare submissions for regulatory bodies including BoT and TCRA
- Support internal and external audits
- Ensure AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and fraud monitoring reporting
Data Analysis & Insights
- Identify trends, anomalies, and potential revenue leakage
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations
- Support commercial teams in acquiring and managing key agent partners
Qualifications & Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
- Customer care experience is an added advantage
- Professional certifications in finance, operations, or management are a plus
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of telecom and digital payment ecosystems (A2P, P2A, POS)
- Solid risk management, control, and governance mindset
