1) Job Title: Driver of Machinery II (DEREVA WA MITAMBO II)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Successful applicants will be responsible for operating and maintaining council machinery as assigned. Main duties include:

  • Operating machinery efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Setting required measurements and adjustments depending on the assigned work.
  • Performing basic maintenance services and reporting mechanical faults accurately.
  • Properly filling in log sheets and keeping correct records of machine use (fuel, grease, spare parts, etc.).
  • Ensuring machines are used only for the intended assigned tasks.
  • Cleaning the machinery regularly.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Applicant Qualifications (Sifa za Mwombaji)

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Have Form Four (Ordinary Level) education.
  • Possess a Class “G” driving license for operating machinery.
  • Have skills in handling and maintaining different machine equipment.
  • Have proven experience operating machinery for not less than 300 hours or 3 months without causing an accident.

Salary Scale

  • TGOS A 1

General Conditions for All Applicants

All applicants must meet the following conditions:

  1. Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged 18 to 45 years.
  2. Must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with:
    • Reliable address
    • Active phone numbers
    • Email address
    • Names of three (3) trustworthy referees
  3. Provisional results, testimonials, and statements of results will NOT be accepted, including Form IV and Form VI results slips.
  4. Must attach a birth certificate certified by an Advocate/Lawyer.
  5. Applicants dismissed from Public Service are not allowed to apply, unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
  6. Public servants in entry-level positions should not apply; instead, they must follow the official government transfer procedures outlined in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
  7. All academic and professional certificates must be certified by an Advocate/Lawyer, including:
    • Form IV and Form VI certificates
    • Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Degree/Postgraduate certificates (where applicable)
    • Computer certificates
    • Professional certificates from relevant boards
  8. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified by relevant authorities such as TCU, NECTA, or NACTVET.
  9. Any falsification of information or qualifications will result in legal action.
  10. Application letters may be written in Kiswahili or English.
