The People Powering Biodiversity (PPB) Project is a three-year initiative aimed at accelerating implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) through community-led conservation approaches.
The project focuses on:
- Strengthening biodiversity conservation.
- Empowering local communities.
- Increasing youth participation in conservation.
- Supporting persons with disabilities in environmental initiatives.
- Promoting inclusive decision-making.
- Building sustainable community conservation networks.
The internship supports WWF’s efforts to establish youth networks that will drive conservation activities throughout the Ruvuma Landscape.

Key Responsibilities
The selected intern will support WWF Tanzania by:
- Strengthening youth participation in biodiversity conservation activities.
- Supporting the establishment of youth conservation networks across the Ruvuma Landscape.
- Building partnerships with youth organizations, including the Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN).
- Ensuring youth perspectives are incorporated into community conservation planning.
- Providing logistical and operational support during workshops, meetings, and awareness campaigns.
- Monitoring and documenting youth participation in project activities.
- Preparing reports on youth engagement and project progress.
- Capturing lessons learned, best practices, and conservation success stories.
- Supporting implementation and monitoring of youth-focused biodiversity activities.
Qualifications Required
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Wildlife Management
- Forestry
- Environmental Studies
- Community Development
- Social Studies
- Or another related field
Experience and Skills
Candidates should have:
- At least one year of experience working with youth initiatives or youth networks.
- At least one year of experience supporting project management or project coordination.
- Familiarity with the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).
- Knowledge of biodiversity conservation and community development.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage information and project data effectively.
- Ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Flexibility to work in field locations with WWF staff.
