About UNFPA
UNFPA is the United Nations’ lead agency for reproductive health, rights, and population issues. Guided by its Strategic Plan (2022–2025), UNFPA focuses on three transformative goals:

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree programme (or equivalent) and have completed at least one academic year.
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate programme (master’s level or higher).
- Have recently graduated from an eligible university programme—internships must begin within one year of graduation.
Other Requirements
- Demonstrated passion for international development and global issues.
- Strong written and spoken proficiency in at least one UN working language (English or French).
- Fluency in the language of the host UNFPA office—which may include Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish.
- Ability to thrive in multicultural environments and work effectively in diverse teams.
Note: Candidates with an immediate family member (parent, child, or sibling) employed by UNFPA are not eligible to apply.

Financial Support
UNFPA offers a monthly stipend to interns who are not sponsored by external sources such as universities or governments.
- The amount is based on the duty station or remote work location.
- Stipends are paid in local currency at the end of each month.
