Job Purpose
The Treasury Manager will be responsible for balancing and managing the bank’s daily cash flow and liquidity of funds. The role involves overseeing treasury operations, managing investments and money market activities, monitoring financial risks, and supporting the development and implementation of treasury strategies.
Key Responsibilities
The Treasury Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing the bank’s money market activities.
- Forecasting daily cash requirements and executing daily financing decisions.
- Monitoring the bank’s various cash flow forecasts through financial modelling.
- Directing, monitoring, and trading investment portfolios, including high-yield investments, Treasury bills, and other portfolios.
- Managing long-term and short-term investment strategies.
- Ensuring outstanding counterparty positions are updated immediately after each deal is completed.
- Evaluating, developing, and implementing cash management systems to improve efficiency.
- Evaluating alternative long-term borrowing strategies and making recommendations in accordance with capital structure guidelines.
- Controlling and preparing all Assets and Liabilities Committee (ALCO) reports and returns.
- Managing foreign currency exposure and foreign currency repayments.
- Preparing divisional business plans and budgets.
- Assisting in the preparation of departmental strategic treasury business plans and budgets.
- Assisting in setting qualitative and quantitative targets for achieving the strategic treasury business plan.
- Supervising the implementation of divisional targets.
- Assisting in developing advice, providing tactical information, and recommending strategies to ALCO for sound decision-making.
- Monitoring and determining interest-rate risk and other asset/liability risk exposures relating to treasury products.
- Bringing identified treasury risks and exposures to the attention of management.
- Maintaining proper records of the bank’s investment portfolio in the money market.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- A university degree in Economics or a business-related field.
- ACL Dealing Certificate.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in managing a treasury function.
- Excellent client management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
