TRA United Football Club has announced an employment opportunity for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The club is seeking a qualified, dynamic, experienced and ethical professional to provide strategic leadership and oversee the overall management and development of the club.

TRA United Football Club is registered under the provisions of the National Sports Council Act (Cap 49) with Registration No. NSC 9545. The club is owned by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and currently participates in the Premier League of Tanzania. Its objectives include promoting voluntary tax compliance, providing tax education, developing sports talent and strengthening corporate social responsibility.

Position: Chief Executive Officer (1 Post)

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the daily operations of the club while providing strong strategic and administrative leadership.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Chief Executive Officer will be expected to:

  1. Coordinate and supervise the daily activities and operations of the club.
  2. Define and implement the club’s long-term vision, mission and strategic objectives.
  3. Ensure compliance with football regulations, including FIFA, CAF, TFF, league rules, good governance practices and government regulations.
  4. Supervise sporting matters, including player recruitment, transfers, contracts and youth academy development.
  5. Drive brand growth, marketing activities and fan engagement through community programmes and digital platforms.
  6. Secure and manage strategic partnerships, sponsorships and community relations.
  7. Ensure alignment between the club’s sporting goals and commercial objectives.
  8. Represent the club before national and international football governing bodies.
  9. Support the coaching staff in building and maintaining a competitive team.
  10. Manage the club’s budget and ensure financial accountability and stability.
  11. Drive revenue through sponsorships, partnerships, broadcasting rights and merchandising.
  12. Build and promote the club’s brand both locally and internationally.
  13. Secure and maintain corporate sponsorships and other commercial opportunities.
  14. Report regularly to the Club Board on performance, achievements and challenges in consultation with the Chairperson.
  15. Uphold the highest standards of transparency, accountability and ethical conduct.
  16. Act as the club’s official representative to the media, sponsors and football authorities.
  17. Build strong relationships with fans, community leaders and government institutions.
  18. Promote and protect the club’s image and reputation.
  19. Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the relevant authority.

Key Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Leadership, Sports Management or another relevant field, supported by sufficient experience in football management.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • At least five years of experience in a football administrative or leadership role.
  • A minimum of three years of senior management experience.
  • A proven track record in sports administration, commercial management or leadership of a large organisation.
  • A strong understanding of Tanzanian football governance, NBC Premier League regulations and sports law.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organisational transformation and deliver measurable results.

Salary and Remuneration

The salary and remuneration package for the successful candidate is negotiable.
