1. Medical Doctor II – 6 Posts
Applicants must hold a Doctor of Medicine degree from a government-recognized university, have successfully completed internship training, and be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be required to:
- Provide comprehensive medical care in areas such as paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, and both routine and emergency surgery.
- Deliver and supervise health education and community health improvement initiatives.
- Investigate, monitor, and control disease outbreaks.
- Plan, evaluate, and improve health service delivery in their areas of work.
- Train students and in-service staff.
- Manage and utilize health data according to national health information systems (MTUHA).
- Supervise junior staff and conduct medical research.
- Prepare departmental plans and budget estimates.
- Participate in medical audits, outreach services, and quality improvement programmes.
- Perform any other duties assigned in line with their professional qualifications.
2. Assistant Nursing Officer II (Anaesthesia) – 3 Posts
Candidates must possess a Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution, be registered with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council, and have completed a one-year training in Anaesthesia.
Duties
- Provide safe anaesthesia services.
- Collect and maintain essential health statistics.
- Supervise subordinate nursing staff.
- Educate patients and the community on health conditions.
- Offer preventive and reproductive health services.
- Perform other assigned duties according to their qualifications and experience.
3. Assistant Nursing Officer II – 10 Posts

- Report damaged or burnt clothes to the supervisor for timely action.
- Maintain all laundry equipment and tools.
Allowances and Benefits
Volunteers will receive transport and meal allowances in accordance with the Public Service Volunteer Guidelines of 2025. Although these are volunteer positions, they provide valuable professional exposure and hands-on experience in a major referral hospital.
General Requirements for Applicants

- Be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 35 years.
- Possess genuine and recognized academic certificates.
- Have two guarantors who are public servants.
- Submit an introduction letter from local government authorities.

- Not have been previously employed in any public institution after graduation.
