The Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission (TAEC) has officially announced 58 volunteer opportunities for qualified Tanzanian professionals and graduates who wish to gain practical experience in the field of atomic energy, radiation safety, and laboratory services. This initiative provides a valuable opportunity for young Tanzanians to contribute to national development while enhancing their professional skills in a highly specialized sector.

In addition to its regulatory responsibilities, TAEC promotes the transfer and application of nuclear technology to support social and economic development across various sectors, including healthcare, agriculture, industry, research, and environmental protection.

Total Number of Available Positions

TAEC is inviting applications for a total of 58 volunteer positions distributed across the following categories:

  • Radiation Safety Inspector – 28 Positions
  • Assistant Radiation Safety Inspector – 25 Positions
  • Laboratory Technician – 5 Positions

These volunteer opportunities are aimed at qualified and motivated Tanzanians who are eager to gain hands-on experience while contributing to the Commission’s important mandate.

Important Conditions for Applicants

TAEC has outlined several important requirements that all applicants must meet before submitting their applications. Among the key conditions are:

  • Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens.
  • Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
  • Candidates should submit an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Academic certificates and transcripts must be certified.
  • Applicants must provide three referees, including one from their academic institution.
  • A recent passport-size photograph must be attached.
  • Applications must be handwritten in English.
  • Applicants must provide proof of residence from their local government authorities.

Applicants holding qualifications obtained outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified by the relevant authorities, including TCU, NACTVET, or NECTA where applicable.

Although these positions are offered on a volunteer basis, successful candidates will receive financial assistance in accordance with TAEC’s Volunteer Guideline to help cover transportation and lunch expenses during their placement. TAEC has emphasized that participation in the volunteer program does not guarantee future employment within the Commission.
