This internship offers practical exposure to development finance, resource mobilization, donor engagement, funding proposals, and coordination with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs).

About the Resource Mobilization Department

TADB’s Resource Mobilization Department is responsible for developing and implementing the Bank’s resource mobilization strategy. The department manages relationships with Development Finance Institutions and Multilateral Development Banks while coordinating the sourcing, structuring, and management of grants, credit lines, and technical assistance facilities.

The internship is intended to strengthen the department’s capacity while giving the successful intern practical, hands-on experience in development finance and resource mobilization.

By the end of the internship, the successful candidate is expected to have developed a working understanding of DFI and MDB engagement processes, concept note and funding proposal development, donor coordination, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision and guidance of the Resource Mobilization Manager, the intern will:

  • Track the external funding environment, including calls for proposals, funding windows, and donor priorities relevant to agricultural development finance.
  • Conduct desk research and preliminary due diligence on potential funding partners, including bilateral and multilateral agencies, foundations, and impact investors.
  • Support the drafting and formatting of concept notes, funding proposals, briefing notes, and related documents.
  • Maintain and update records of expected and actual receipts and disbursements of mobilized funds.
  • Maintain trackers and action matrices for active partner engagements.
  • Support internal information requests from Treasury and other divisions, departments, and units concerning funding models, cost drivers, and managed fund performance.
  • Assist with logistical and documentation preparations for donor meetings, missions, and appraisal visits.
  • Compile briefing packs and follow-up action logs for resource mobilization engagements.
  • Support monitoring of performance reporting for projects operating on managed and mobilized funds.
  • Work with relevant divisions and departments to support project and funding reporting.
  • Maintain an organized filing and document management system for resource mobilization records and correspondence.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by supervising officers or the Director responsible for Treasury and Funding.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • A university degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, International Development, or a related discipline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Working knowledge of French will be an added advantage.
  • Good analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to synthesize information clearly and accurately.
  • Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated interest in development finance, banking, or international cooperation.
  • Evidence of interest may include coursework, previous internships, volunteering, or extracurricular activities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under supervision.
  • High integrity and professionalism.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced institutional environment.
