Position Overview
The Project Field Officer will support the day-to-day implementation of project activities at the community level. The role involves mobilizing beneficiaries, facilitating training sessions, providing business coaching, coordinating with local stakeholders, collecting project data, and ensuring effective monitoring and reporting of project progress.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Mobilizing and registering project beneficiaries.
- Conducting community sensitization and stakeholder engagement meetings.
- Facilitating training on entrepreneurship, agribusiness, business management, and climate-smart agriculture.
- Coaching and mentoring youth-led enterprises and producer groups.
- Supporting market linkages and financial inclusion initiatives.
- Collecting and managing project data using digital platforms such as KoboToolbox or ODK.
- Managing disability-related data in line with Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Matrix guidelines.
- Ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and proper documentation of project information.
- Preparing field reports, case studies, and success stories.
- Coordinating with Local Government Authorities (LGAs), community stakeholders, and Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs).
- Integrating safeguarding, disability inclusion, and gender equality into all project activities.
- Performing any additional duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Agriculture
- Agribusiness
- Agricultural Extension
- Community Development
- Development Studies
- Rural Development
- Entrepreneurship
- Economics
- Or another related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in community development, agriculture, youth empowerment, or livelihood projects.
- Experience facilitating community training and mobilizing beneficiaries.
- Experience supporting youth entrepreneurship and agribusiness development.
- Knowledge of climate-smart agriculture and sustainable food systems.
- Experience using digital data collection tools such as KoboToolbox or ODK.
- Strong communication, facilitation, report-writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience handling disability-related data and knowledge of CBR Matrix guidelines will be an added advantage.
