Physiotherapist Responsibilities
The Physiotherapist will be responsible for the following duties:
- Plan, prepare and lead daily individual and group paediatric therapy sessions.
- Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualised care plans.
- Document patient progress accurately in paper and electronic medical records.
- Participate in daily and weekly patient care rounds.
- Provide wellness updates and make appropriate adjustments to patient care plans.
- Advocate for patients by providing high-quality, holistic clinical care.
- Support partner hospital clinics and patient screening activities.
- Assist with patient advocacy and care coordination.
- Participate in the organisation’s ongoing education programme and Continuing Professional Development activities.
- Share physiotherapy knowledge and practical skills with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Contribute to Kafika House clinics, including clubfoot treatment, gait training and splinting.
- Supervise therapy assistants, students and interdisciplinary interns.
- Participate in community outreach activities, including patient screening and disability awareness.
- Promote patient advocacy and inclusion within the community.
- Foster a caring environment that supports healing and rehabilitation.
- Contribute to the overall delivery of holistic patient care at Kafika House.
Education, Skills and Experience
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
- Registration with the relevant professional body in Tanzania.
- At least three years of clinical experience in paediatric physiotherapy.
