About LATRA Consumer Consultative Council (LATRA CCC)
The Land Transport Regulatory Authority – Consumer Consultative Council (LATRA CCC) was established under Section 29 of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority Act, No. 3 of 2019. The Council is an independent statutory body mandated to represent and safeguard the interests of consumers using regulated land transport services.
The Minister responsible for Transport appoints the Chairperson and Board Members from among qualified individuals.

Functions of the Board
Successful applicants will participate in carrying out the responsibilities provided under the Land Transport Regulatory Authority Act, including:
- Representing consumer interests before the Authority, the Minister, and regulated sector ministries.
- Providing consumer views, submissions, and recommendations on regulated transport services.
- Receiving and disseminating information relevant to consumers.
- Establishing and consulting regional and sector consumer committees.
- Engaging with government institutions, industry stakeholders, and consumer organizations.
- Conducting research on issues affecting consumers within the regulated land transport sector.
- Promoting and protecting consumer rights and welfare.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- Knowledge and understanding of consumer interests, particularly within the regulated land transport sector.
- Knowledge of regulated land transport services, including:
- Public transport.
- Freight transport.
- Rail transport.
- Other services regulated by LATRA.
- Ability to represent the interests of:
- Low-income consumers.
- Rural communities.
- Disadvantaged groups.
- Industrial and business users.
- Government and community organizations.
- Strong commitment to promoting and protecting consumer rights.
- Applicants must be between 50 and 65 years of age.
