About the Role

The Container Freight Station Supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations of the CFS and oversee yard activities. The role involves coordinating resources, maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring that safety and compliance requirements are consistently followed.

The position also requires strong leadership and communication skills, as the successful candidate will work closely with employees, customers, vendors, service providers and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing daily Container Freight Station operations and CFS yard activities.
  • Ensuring safe, efficient and compliant operations.
  • Maintaining a customer-focused approach and delivering quality service.
  • Providing strong safety leadership and identifying potential hazards.
  • Preparing daily, weekly and monthly operational reports.
  • Working closely with teams and other departments.
  • Maintaining asset records and ensuring effective use of equipment such as reach stackers and forklifts.
  • Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working towards volume targets and customer traction.
  • Setting performance targets for team members and monitoring progress.
  • Promoting employee engagement, motivation and high performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with Maersk health and safety policies.
  • Keeping operational documents and systems updated.
  • Supporting staff training, development and performance management.
  • Monitoring 48-hour and 10-day yard stock takes and reconciling physical container stock with system records.
  • Maintaining accurate operational data in relevant systems.
  • Monitoring yard operations performance.
  • Reporting operational issues, incidents and deviations to management.
  • Tracking KPIs and reporting operational performance.
  • Maintaining SOPs, process flows and other relevant documentation.
  • Conducting daily and weekly operations meetings.
  • Identifying staff development and training needs.
  • Coordinating activities with vendors and service providers.
  • Ensuring effective shift handovers and operational continuity.

Requirements

Maersk is looking for candidates who have:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience leading a team in terminal or port operations.
  • Competence in working with TRA systems.
  • Proven team leadership experience.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work rotational shifts when required.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to build collaboration and lead a high-performing team.
