1. Medical Officer (MD) – 2 Posts

The Medical Officers will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical care to both outpatient and inpatient clients.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, differential diagnoses, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Provide emergency medical interventions and perform major and minor procedures within professional competence and facility privileges.
  • Conduct ward rounds, monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans, and facilitate safe discharge or referral.
  • Participate in clinical audits, mortality reviews, quality improvement activities, and clinical governance.
  • Ensure compliance with medical ethics, standard operating procedures, and applicable national healthcare guidelines.
  • Supervise and mentor Assistant Medical Officers, Clinical Officers, nurses, and other clinical staff.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure quality and continuous patient care.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MD/MBBS) from a recognized university.
  • Successful completion of a one-year internship at a recognized tertiary or regional hospital.
  • Full registration with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
  • Valid practising licence.
  • At least 1–2 years of post-internship clinical experience in a reputable healthcare facility.
  • Experience in the private healthcare sector will be an added advantage.
  • Strong clinical decision-making, emergency management, communication, and leadership skills.

2. Registered Nurse / Assistant Nursing Officer (ANO) – 3 Posts

Successful candidates will provide comprehensive nursing services across different departments, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality of care.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, holistic, and patient-centered nursing care in OPD, IPD, ICU, RCH, and labour wards.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor vital signs and patient progress.
  • Manage IV therapy, fluid balance, and maintain accurate nursing and clinical records.
  • Prepare patients and assist healthcare professionals during surgical and other clinical procedures.
  • Implement Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures.
  • Ensure appropriate decontamination of equipment and healthcare waste management.
  • Provide health education and pre- and post-operative counselling.
  • Offer compassionate support to patients and their families.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration with the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council (TNMC).
  • Valid practising licence.
  • Competence in areas such as critical care, maternity/labour management, or paediatric care will be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy and high-pressure clinical environment.

3. Radiographer – 2 Posts

The Radiographers will support the diagnosis and management of patients by providing safe and accurate medical imaging services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate diagnostic imaging equipment, including X-ray and ultrasound equipment.
  • Review clinical requests and appropriately position patients for diagnostic imaging.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Apply radiation protection procedures in accordance with established safety principles.
  • Manage digital images through PACS/EHR systems and ensure proper image archiving.
  • Make processed images available to attending clinicians for interpretation.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks and report technical or calibration problems.
  • Monitor radiation protection and dosimetry requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Technology from a recognized institution.
  • Full registration with the Medical Radiology Council (MRC) of Tanzania.
  • Valid practising licence.
  • Practical experience in general digital radiography.
  • Proficiency in obstetric and abdominal ultrasonography.
  • Strong technical, troubleshooting, and patient-safety skills.

4. Clinical Officer – 3 Posts

Clinical Officers will provide frontline clinical services, particularly in the Outpatient Department and other assigned clinical areas.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat common acute and chronic conditions.
  • Request relevant laboratory and radiological investigations.
  • Interpret investigation results and use findings to guide patient management.
  • Prescribe appropriate medicines in accordance with national treatment guidelines and the Essential Medicines List.
  • Perform minor procedures such as wound debridement, suturing, and incision and drainage of abscesses.
  • Recognize serious complications and facilitate timely stabilization and referral or escalation to Medical Officers.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including documentation through electronic health record systems.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine (NTA Level 6) from a recognized medical training institution.
  • Full registration with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
  • Valid practising licence.
  • At least one year of clinical experience in a busy OPD or health center environment.
  • Good clinical judgement and patient-management skills.
  • Ability to use electronic health record (EHR) systems.

5. Dental Therapist – 2 Posts

The Dental Therapists will provide preventive, diagnostic, and routine dental care to both adult and paediatric patients.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct oral examinations and identify conditions such as dental caries and periodontal diseases.
  • Develop appropriate oral healthcare plans.
  • Perform routine dental procedures, including simple extractions, fillings, scaling and polishing, and topical fluoride application.
  • Educate patients and community members on oral hygiene and proper brushing techniques.
  • Provide dietary and preventive oral health advice.
  • Sterilize, maintain, and properly manage dental instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain infection prevention and control standards within the dental unit.
  • Assist dental surgeons during complex procedures and facial trauma management where required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Diploma in Dental Therapy from a recognized health training institution.
  • Full registration with the relevant professional regulatory body.
  • Valid practising licence.
  • Good clinical dexterity and patient-care skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both adult and paediatric patients.
  • Experience in managing patients with dental anxiety will be an advantage.
