Available Positions
1. Office Assistant II / Secretary – 5 Posts
Kyerwa District Council is seeking qualified candidates to fill five positions of Office Assistant II / Secretary. The successful candidates will provide secretarial and administrative support, manage office records, assist with meetings, and handle various office-related duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Typing letters, reports, and ordinary as well as confidential documents.
- Receiving visitors, listening to their needs, and directing them to the appropriate office or responsible officer.
- Maintaining information and records relating to appointments, visitors, meeting dates, official trips, and other work schedules of the supervisor.
- Searching for files and documents required for the performance of assigned duties.
- Receiving files and distributing them to officers in the relevant Department, Unit, or Section.
- Preparing agendas and points for discussion and making arrangements for various meetings.
- Preparing lists of required office supplies and equipment.
- Performing other duties related to the position as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants for the Office Assistant II / Secretary position must:
- Have completed Form IV (Ordinary Level).
- Possess a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies.
- Have passed Shorthand in both Kiswahili and English at a speed of 100 words per minute.

2. Driver Class II – 3 Posts
Kyerwa District Council is also recruiting three Driver Class II candidates. The successful applicants will be responsible for providing official transportation services and ensuring that assigned vehicles are properly maintained and operated safely.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Driver Class II will be responsible for:
- Inspecting the vehicle before and after each journey to ensure that it is in safe operating condition.
- Transporting employees to various locations on official assignments.
- Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance of vehicles.
- Collecting and distributing various documents.
- Recording and maintaining details of all journeys in the vehicle logbook.
- Cleaning the assigned vehicle.
- Performing other duties related to the driving profession as assigned by the Head or Supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants for the Driver Class II position must:
- Possess a Form IV (Ordinary Level) Certificate.
- Have a Class E or Class C driving licence.
- Have at least one year of driving experience without causing an accident.
