The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) has officially released the second batch of student loans and grants for the 2025/2026 academic year, benefiting a total of 66,987 students across Tanzania. Total Allocations So Far

With this second disbursement, HESLB has now completed loan allocations for 202,227 students, valued at TZS 641.8 billion, out of the TZS 916.7 billion budget set aside by the Government of Tanzania for higher education loans in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Next Steps for Students

HESLB has urged students who did not appear in this round to remain calm. Those who were unsuccessful in the first or second batch can file an appeal through the Student’s Individual Permanent Account (SIPA) portal. Appeal window: November 10–17, 2025, Instructions for filing appeals will be available on the HESLB online system, and students are advised to ensure they meet all requirements before submitting.
