Integrated Care Nurse (ICN)
Duty Station: Kigoma Region, Tanzania
Job Purpose
The Integrated Care Nurse (ICN) will provide person-centred, holistic, and integrated healthcare services to vulnerable populations living in Nyarugusu refugee camps, including:
- Older people
- Persons with disabilities
- Individuals living with serious or chronic medical conditions
- Unaccompanied and separated children
- Other people with specific needs (PSNs)
The successful candidate will focus on improving clients’ quality of life, dignity, comfort, psychosocial wellbeing, and functional ability through comprehensive healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
The Integrated Care Nurse will be responsible for:
- Delivering preventive healthcare services.
- Providing curative nursing care.
- Supporting rehabilitative care for patients.
- Offering supportive and palliative care where appropriate.
- Delivering end-of-life care when required.
- Coordinating integrated care within a humanitarian setting.
- Working closely with healthcare facilities, protection teams, humanitarian partners, and community structures.
- Promoting continuity of care for vulnerable populations.
- Supporting patient dignity, independence, and wellbeing.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve healthcare outcomes.
- Ensuring services align with humanitarian principles and organisational standards.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or another relevant health-related field.
- Valid professional nursing registration and practicing license.
- Relevant professional experience in humanitarian and/or development programmes.
- Experience working with NGOs, INGOs, or community-based organisations.
- Good understanding of gender equality, disability inclusion, safeguarding, and protection principles.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
