Job Summary

The Graduate Mining Engineer will support Senior Mining Engineers and site management by assisting with technical mining activities, production monitoring, operational reporting, cost analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Successful candidates will participate in the AUMS Graduate Program, designed to develop technical competence and leadership capabilities through practical underground mining experience.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Complying with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Following underground mining safety regulations and operational standards.
  • Conducting pre-start inspections of mining equipment.
  • Monitoring mining production against contractual and client schedules.
  • Supporting underground mining engineering and technical operations.
  • Analyzing mining performance and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance reports.
  • Updating underground development progress and operational tracking systems.
  • Monitoring production performance and investigating operational delays.
  • Supporting Quality Assurance (QA) programs.
  • Assisting with monthly mining reconciliation activities.
  • Maintaining positive working relationships with clients.
  • Ensuring contractual obligations are achieved efficiently.
  • Supporting continuous operational improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Understanding of underground mining operations.

  • Ability to mentor vocational engineers and support mine control reporting.

  • Valid Tanzanian Driving Licence.
  • Tanzanian Blasting Certificate.
