About the Fuel Sales Executive Role

The Fuel Sales Executive will focus on developing and expanding Giraffe Oil’s customer base, particularly among businesses that have significant fuel requirements.

The role involves targeting customers in sectors such as mining, transport, logistics, construction, manufacturing, agriculture, government institutions and other commercial businesses. The successful candidate will also maintain existing accounts and identify opportunities to increase fuel consumption and revenue.

The position requires regular engagement with customers, field visits, sales negotiations and close coordination with station and operations teams to support reliable product availability.

Key Responsibilities

The Fuel Sales Executive will be responsible for:

  • Identifying, developing and securing new corporate, fleet and commercial customers.
  • Achieving assigned monthly and annual fuel volume and revenue targets.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.
  • Conducting regular field visits to identify new business opportunities.
  • Negotiating fuel prices, volumes and commercial terms within approved company limits.
  • Monitoring customer fuel consumption and identifying opportunities to increase sales.
  • Working closely with stations and the logistics team to maintain product availability and minimize stock-outs.
  • Monitoring market conditions, competitor activities and fuel pricing.
  • Following up customer payments and ensuring compliance with approved credit terms.
  • Handling customer complaints and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintaining accurate customer records and sales pipelines.
  • Preparing and submitting regular sales reports.
  • Identifying new projects, businesses and market opportunities that can generate additional fuel volumes.

Requirements

Applicants for the Fuel Sales Executive position should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in fuel sales, petroleum marketing, B2B sales or a related industry.
  • Experience working with corporate, fleet or industrial customers is highly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of petroleum products, pricing and commercial sales.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and customer relationship management skills.
  • A proven ability to achieve sales targets and develop new business.
  • Good analytical, reporting and Microsoft Office skills.
  • A valid driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel as required by the role.
