Femina Hip, one of Tanzania’s leading youth-focused organizations, is inviting applications for the position of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Officer under the Her Future Project (2026–2028). Femina Hip is Hiring SRHR Officer February 2026–2028, This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced SRHR professional ready to help empower adolescents and young people—especially girls and marginalized groups—through knowledge, services, and rights-based programming.
About Femina Hip and the Her Future Project
The Health, Empowerment, and Rights (HER) Future Project aims to improve SRHR outcomes for women and young people aged 10–24 across Tanzania. The project focuses on:
- Strengthening health systems
- Expanding access to age-appropriate and comprehensive SRHR education
- Empowering youth to make informed choices
- Advancing supportive policies to reduce teenage pregnancy, maternal mortality, and gender-based violence
Role Purpose: What the SRHR Officer Will Do
The SRHR Officer will play a key role in ensuring Femina Hip’s strong technical contribution to the Her Future Project. The officer will support access to accurate SRHR information, youth-friendly services, and supportive community environments. A major focus of this role is providing technical leadership in delivering:
- Comprehensive Post-Abortion Care (cPAC)
- Contraceptive services
- Gender-Based Violence (GBV) support services
- Youth-friendly health services
The role also includes ensuring strong monitoring and reporting of SRHR initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1) Program Implementation
- Support delivery of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in schools, Fema Clubs, and community spaces
- Facilitate youth-led dialogues, theatre-for-development, and digital campaigns
- Strengthen referral networks between schools, communities, and health facilities
- Build strong working relationships with RHMTs, CHMTs, and implementing partners
2) Clinical Services Support
- Plan, coordinate, and ensure quality clinical training for healthcare workers
- Develop and manage a strong clinical mentoring program for post-training support
- Provide technical assistance to local government authorities to implement up-to-date clinical standards aligned with Ministry of Health guidelines
- Support delivery of cPAC, contraception, GBV and VAC services
3) Community Engagement
- Organize intergenerational forums, outreach events, and digital campaigns
- Mobilize parents, teachers, and community leaders to support adolescent SRHR
4) Monitoring and Reporting
- Support monitoring of SRHR initiatives and youth-friendly service uptake
- Collect and analyze data on SRHR activities and youth feedback
- Contribute to donor reports, success stories, and knowledge-sharing platforms
- Ensure accurate SRHR documentation in supported facilities with the MERL team
- Submit timely and high-quality reports according to the project plan
5) Advocacy
- Support youth-led advocacy for inclusive SRHR services and policies
- Participate in working groups and policy dialogues
6) Compliance and Safeguarding
- Implement compliance activities aligned with organizational, government, and donor requirements
- Implement, monitor, and report safeguarding and child protection matters
Qualifications and Experience Required
To be considered for the SRHR Officer role, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Clinical background in Clinical Medicine or Nursing
- A post-graduate qualification at Master’s level (MPH preferred)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in SRHR programming, youth empowerment, or community health
- Strong competence in cPAC, family planning, GBV, VAC, MNCH, and EmONC services
- Solid understanding of adolescent SRHR issues in Tanzania (including HIV/AIDS, disability inclusion, and GBV)
- Experience engaging at regional and national levels within Tanzania’s health system
- Strong facilitation, training, and digital/social media campaign experience
- Excellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili
