Design Engineer

Job Summary

The Design Engineer will be responsible for conducting feasibility studies, designing and modeling telecommunications networks, performing technical calculations, and supporting the planning, implementation, and updating of fiber optic network infrastructure. The role requires strong technical knowledge of FTTH (Fiber to the Home) network design and proficiency in industry-standard design software.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Reviewing technical specifications provided by network operators or local authorities.
Analyzing existing infrastructure, including utility poles, to determine cable routing.
Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to map cable routes.
Preparing detailed execution plans for network cabinets, wiring layouts, equipment positioning, and network connections.
Calculating network capacity requirements, including fiber allocation and optical signal attenuation.
Verifying the structural capacity of infrastructure, including overhead utility poles, for network installations.
Updating engineering drawings to reflect site modifications and preparing accurate as-built documentation after project completion.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications.
At least three (3) years of experience in telecommunications network design.
Proven experience in Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network design.

Required Skills and Competencies

Candidates should demonstrate:

Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Proficiency in QGIS.
Proficiency in ArcGIS.
Experience using FTTH-specific design software.
Strong understanding of telecommunications standards.
Excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
