Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Finance Responsibilities
The Program Accountant and Administrative Assistant will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and tracking programme expenditures.
- Preparing donor financial reports.
- Ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
- Leading audits conducted on respective projects and supporting CCBRT global audits.
- Preparing bank documents and remitting TRA statutory and other statutory returns.
- Maintaining debtor control accounts for various clients.
- Maintaining creditor control accounts for various suppliers.
- Managing vouchers and petty cash.
- Preparing monthly financial statements.
- Entering financial data into the accounting system, including SAP.
- Assisting in drafting, filing, and dispatching tender correspondence.
- Performing bank reconciliations.
- Preparing monthly performance accounts and weekly cash-flow reports.
- Maintaining the Moshi fixed asset register and overseeing asset acquisition and disposal.
- Ensuring proper maintenance and use of office equipment and facilities.
Administrative Responsibilities
The successful candidate will also:
- Maintain stock records and coordinate reordering.
- Assist with onboarding new employees.
- Liaise with IT consultants to ensure technical issues are resolved efficiently.
- Maintain an organized office filing system.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure quality goods and services are delivered on time and within budget.
- Produce productivity reports using the company’s time-management software.
- Liaise with the Head of Moshi and CCBRT Head Office on assigned duties.
- Support logistics for meetings, training sessions, and travel arrangements.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Advanced or postgraduate diploma in Accounting or a related financial field.
- At least three years of relevant working experience.
- CPA or ACCA qualification is an added advantage.
- Computer literacy and experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Swahili.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong client-focused approach.
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and work.
