Vacancy 1: Ophthalmologist (Eye Specialist)

Reference: 2026-09, Role Summary

CCBRT is seeking a skilled Eye Specialist to strengthen its Ophthalmology Unit. The role involves delivering both medical and surgical eye care while contributing to clinical excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized eye care services in OPD, IPD, and theatre
  • Conduct eye examinations and perform surgeries
  • Review and manage complex patient cases
  • Supervise junior doctors and support training
  • Participate in ward rounds and on-call duties
  • Contribute to research, audits, and clinical guidelines
  • Ensure proper medical documentation and data quality
  • Promote CCBRT eye services

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Medicine (Ophthalmology)
  • Registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MMED)
  • Minimum 3 years’ surgical experience
  • Strong clinical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in English and Swahili
  • Valid 2026 practicing license
  • Computer literacy and excellent interpersonal skills

Vacancy 2: Medical Doctor (General Practitioner)

Reference: 2026-10, Role Summary

To strengthen its Clinical Division, CCBRT is looking for a General Practitioner Medical Doctor to join its growing team and deliver quality patient care across departments.

Main Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat patients in outpatient and inpatient departments
  • Run scheduled clinics and screen patients
  • Admit patients and manage ward care
  • Prepare operation lists
  • Perform minor surgical procedures
  • Assist senior surgeons during major operations
  • Update senior doctors on patient progress
  • Participate in outreach programs
  • Work shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call duties

Candidate Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a recognized institution
  • Completed one-year internship (minimum GPA 2.7)
  • At least 1 year post-internship experience
  • Registered with the Tanganyika Medical Council
  • Valid 2026 practicing license
  • Computer literate
  • Strong communication skills (English & Swahili)
  • Team player with a proactive mindset
