The Irrigation Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating irrigation activities, supervising technical teams, maintaining irrigation systems, and ensuring efficient water management within farming operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Irrigation Supervisor will perform the following duties:
- Monitor daily activities of the irrigation technical team.
- Assist the Irrigation Engineer in preparing irrigation and fertigation programmes as instructed.
- Set operational targets and ensure effective achievement of assigned goals.
- Participate in various field activities within assigned zones in coordination with block supervisors.
- Lead inspection of irrigation systems according to provided schedules.
- Oversee irrigation maintenance programmes as scheduled.
- Maintain continuous focus on workplace safety and injury prevention.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Diploma in Irrigation and Water Resource Engineering, Civil and Irrigation Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least three (3) years of experience in irrigation projects.
- Experience in the sugar industry will be an added advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of irrigation systems and field operations.
- Ability to work effectively with teams and achieve operational targets.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
