About the SHRA HR Internship
The Social Housing Regulatory Authority is offering an HR internship to unemployed South African graduates who have completed relevant qualifications from a university or university of technology.
The successful intern will gain practical exposure to various HR functions, including recruitment and selection, employee administration, record keeping, training and development, employee wellness, compliance and general HR support. The internship will also provide an opportunity to develop professional workplace skills while gaining practical knowledge of HR policies, procedures and relevant employment legislation.

Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be an unemployed South African citizen under the age of 35.
- Hold a recognised three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma at NQF Level 6 or 7.
- Have a qualification in one of the following fields:
- Human Resources Management
- Human Resource Development
- Industrial Psychology
- Labour Relations
- A related qualification
- Be computer literate, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office.
Key Responsibilities
The appointed HR Intern will assist the Human Resources department with a range of administrative and operational duties, including:
- Providing administrative support to the Human Resources function.
- Assisting with recruitment and selection processes.
- Supporting employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Maintaining and updating employee records and HR information.
- Assisting with leave administration and other employee-related records.
- Preparing HR reports, correspondence and presentations.
- Supporting employee wellness, training and development initiatives.
- Responding to HR queries and providing general employee administration support.
- Maintaining confidential personnel files and ensuring records are audit-ready.
- Assisting with HR projects, events and other initiatives.
- Learning and applying HR policies, procedures and relevant employment legislation.
- Performing general HR administrative duties.
- Developing professional HR knowledge and workplace skills.
- Assisting with ad hoc HR audits and compliance-related activities.
