Responsibilities

Depending on the position, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Develop and implement sanitation policies and programmes.
  • Coordinate and monitor records management systems.
  • Supervise supply chain management operations and procurement activities.
  • Manage procurement plans, supplier quotations, contracts, and inventory.
  • Provide administrative, financial, and personnel support services.
  • Supervise staff and ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Operate and maintain heavy vehicles and specialised equipment.
  • Support infrastructure maintenance and construction activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and departmental documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Public Service policies, financial regulations, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

The required qualifications vary by position and include:

  • Relevant NQF Level 6 qualification in Environmental Health, Community Development, Records Management, Information Science, or related fields.
  • National Diploma in relevant disciplines where applicable.
  • Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) for several administrative and supply chain positions.
  • Relevant work experience ranging from 3 to 5 years, depending on the post.
  • Valid driver’s licence for positions requiring vehicle operation.
  • Good communication, computer literacy, problem-solving, teamwork, accountability, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Public Service legislation, supply chain management, records management, sanitation policies, and financial management where applicable.
