Job Summary
The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and procedures that support the bank’s strategic objectives. The successful candidate will oversee recruitment, employee relations, performance management, staff welfare, compliance, training, and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Develop, implement, monitor, and report on the bank’s Human Resource Strategy.
- Formulate and improve HR policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Promote positive employee relations and maintain sound industrial relations.
- Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, probation reviews, transfers, and promotions.
- Develop and manage employee welfare programs, reward schemes, and staff benefits.
- Maintain accurate HR databases and employee records.
- Prepare statutory returns, including PAYE, SDL, HESLB, WCF, and pension contributions.
- Coordinate performance management and ensure all employees are assigned Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Support managers in identifying performance gaps and implementing staff development plans.
- Coordinate training needs assessments and oversee implementation of training programs.
- Review organizational structures and recommend improvements aligned with business objectives.
- Handle employee grievances and disciplinary matters professionally.
- Prepare HR reports on recruitment, promotions, transfers, exits, training, and compliance.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, or another related field.
- At least 5 years of work experience, including 3 years in a senior Human Resources role, preferably within the banking industry or private sector.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of HR strategy development and implementation.
- Experience in industrial relations, recruitment, performance management, and compliance.
- Ability to develop HR policies and coordinate organizational change initiatives.
- Experience managing staff welfare programs, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Knowledge of statutory HR compliance requirements in Tanzania.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
