Available Positions at Benjamin Mkapa Hospital
1. Nursing Officer II – 14 Posts
The hospital is seeking qualified Nursing Officers who will support patient care and healthcare operations within various departments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Providing general nursing care to patients
- Collecting essential medical data
- Counselling patients and families
- Educating patients about health conditions and treatment plans
- Ordering drugs from the pharmacy and ward equipment from stores
- Adhering to the Dangerous Drug Act (DDA)
- Providing health education to patients and relatives
- Using the integrated hospital management information systems
- Communicating effectively through ICT systems
- Following inpatient and outpatient treatment procedures
- Participating in implementation of prescribed medical instructions
- Ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and hospital business processes
- Performing any other duties assigned by supervisors
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess:
- A Bachelor Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- Successful completion of internship training
- Registration with the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council
- Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills, especially when handling English-speaking patients

2. Assistant Nursing Officers II – 10 Posts
BMH is also recruiting Assistant Nursing Officers to support nursing operations and patient care services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Taking general nursing care of patients
- Collecting medical data
- Educating patients on health issues
- Adhering to DDA regulations
- Administering prescribed medication and treatment
- Giving health education to patients and relatives
- Conducting ward rounds
- Counselling patients
- Monitoring working equipment within assigned areas
- Ensuring compliance with hospital procedures and standards
- Performing other official duties assigned by supervisors
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- A Diploma in Nursing, Midwifery, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- Valid license from the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council
