Salary & Benefits

The SADC Secretariat offers a competitive remuneration package:

  • Job Grade: 4
  • Annual Salary Range: US$ 93,097 – 99,643

Duration of Appointment

  • Fixed-term contract of 4 years
  • Renewable twice (each for another 4 years), subject to:
    • Successful completion of a 6-month probation period
    • Satisfactory performance
    • Compliance with the mandatory retirement age (60 years)
    • Continued need for the position

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • Applicants must be 52 years or below

Education

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in:
    • Integrated Water Resources Management
    • Water Resources Engineering
    • Hydrogeology
      (From a recognized institution)

Specialized Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Integrated programme planning and budgeting
    • Development, administration, and monitoring of water programmes
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to the role

Experience

  • 10–15 years of relevant experience in transboundary/multi-country water resource management
  • At least 4 years in a managerial/leadership role
