Administration Intern/Volunteer (Transport Unit)

Position Overview
Amref Health Africa – Tanzania is seeking a motivated Administration Intern/Volunteer (Transport Unit) to support the Transport Office in enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and cost optimization of transportation services. This role contributes directly to the organization’s mission by ensuring reliable transport support for health programs implemented in collaboration with the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania.
The intern will work closely with the Transport Officer and other departments to strengthen transport operations, fleet management, and administrative compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Transport Officer, the intern/volunteer will be responsible for the following duties:
- Collaborating with accounting staff to retrieve, organize, and reconcile transport-related costs from the payment system and input them into the Fleet Management System.
- Working with Fleet Management System vendor staff to conduct system health checks and ensure alignment with Amref transport unit objectives.
- Providing day-to-day support to the Transport Unit in delivering transportation services for Amref projects.
- Reconciling fuel vouchers submitted by Regional Administration/Logistics Officers to ensure accuracy prior to vendor payments.
- Reminding drivers to comply with road safety standards and maintain vehicles in acceptable working condition.
- Issuing reminders on transport policies, including parking time limits, proper vehicle logbook recording, and timely submission of monthly logbooks.
- Assisting in ensuring daily uploading of fleet data into the Fleet Management System, ensuring no vehicle operates without system data entry.
- Performing general administrative duties as assigned.
- Carrying out any other duties assigned within the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Transport or an equivalent qualification from a TCU-recognized college or university.

- Strong personal discipline and professional attitude in the workplace.
- Good time management skills and high level of organization.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with an innovative mindset to improve efficiency.
